Nature Class

Nature Class with Ms. Laura

Alvarado Elementary School has a unique Nature Class that will continue to grow this year. In addition to working with the Los Ranchos Agri-Nature Center, and the Rio Grande Community Farm, we will be focusing on gardening, agriculture, food justice, water and land stewardship, indigenous land based learning, conservation, biology and ethnobotany. We will continue with our monthly nature walks, making tea and food from our garden, and of course composting. We will be studying cycles of nature through a lens of seasonal change, while delving into nature art, civic engagement, outdoor education and lots of creative play.
